Hello, welcome to Pi News. Dear friends, today Pi Network has officially announced a 6-month extension for KYC, similar to the announcement made on Pi2day. According to the notification, this extension is effective from July 1st, and all pioneers must complete their KYC to transition to the mainnet. The 6-month KYC extension has been predefined, including resolutions for those who have not completed KYC.
As per the announcement, from July 1st, all accounts eligible for KYC but not yet completed will have a countdown timer of 3 months, instead of the previous 6 months. This means that from July 1st to December 31st, all pioneers must complete their KYC and transition to the mainnet. Accounts that have already completed KYC will not display a countdown timer – Pi shopping
Additionally, accounts with pending KYC or temporarily approved KYC will not display a countdown timer. However, eligible pioneers who do not complete KYC will have 3 months to do so. If they fail to complete it within this period, their accounts will be revoked and their Pi will be forfeited.
Pioneers should remind each other to complete KYC to avoid account and reward forfeiture. The security circle and mainnet checklist are also very important. KYC application submission will end on September 30th, and the mainnet checklist period will conclude on December 31st, 2024.
For new pioneers, they must complete 30 days of mining before being eligible to submit their KYC application. Pioneers who have never submitted an application before will have a 3-month deadline to complete KYC and transition to the mainnet. If there are any pending KYC actions, the timer will pause and resume once the issue is resolved.
Pioneers should perform the required actions as soon as possible during the countdown period. The KYC extension is essential to ensure the network’s development and the quality of the Pi Network system.

In the coming time, we encourage pioneers to start KYC and transition to the mainnet as soon as possible to maintain the system’s integrity and synchronize the mainnet transition. Pi Network has identified a specific date to open the mainnet by the end of 2024 to early 2025.
